Does Rebirth Begin or End with Faith?

The bible teaches, and many Calvinists and Arminians agree, that rebirth begins with faith. Some Calvinists, but no Arminian, teach that the new birth either always, usually, sometimes, ends in faith, that is, the new birth produces faith. Some Calvinists put a gap in time between being reborn and being converted, or coming to faith and repentance. Some, like the Hardshells of today, say that most of those who are born again will never come to faith, denying that the new birth ends in faith. These Hyper Calvinists believe that faith has no part in it. This is a slippery slope theologically as the history of Hyper Calvinism and Hardshellism demonstrates. The fruits of that theory are evident. The forefathers of the Hardshells did not teach that regeneration could be separated from faith in Christ.

What think ye?
