My wife still needs your prayers since she came off ventilation in January. I also particularly need your prayers as I am in bad shape with enlarged heart and chest pains. The doctors are running many tests to find out what is going on. I am losing weight quickly, and I have no appetite. I stay in bed nearly all the time and is the reason for my not continuing my writing. More tests are ongoing. Pray that they find the cause. I had a heart stress test done and it shows low probability for another coronary blockage. My blood pressure is being addressed. Having some kidney problems (just like father).
If I die of congestive heart failure, I want all to know that I will be waiting on the other side of Jordan for all of you, and I will be with Jesus. Hallelujah.
Oh my Father, I come to you on behalf of my friend and brother. Oh sweet Savior, the great physician and giver of peace, I come to You and ask for healing in whatever form pleases you, for my brother Stephen. Touch him with your peace, may your presence so overwhelm him that his body is unable to deny it. Give his wife recovery and function. In all things, give them power over the enemy which You have trampled under your feet. Oh Lord Jesus, in this season of Resurrection, help Stephen to remember that You know what it is like to have your Preaching behind You and your Passion ahead of you, your Sermons behind you, your Suffering ahead of You. The delights of Galilee behind You, and ahead of You Dark Gethsemane. You know the day Prophecy became Practice. And after all was accomplished, your enemies were conquered, salvation secured, so that now we can come boldly to your Throne of Grace. So I come on behalf of my brother and friend. Pour oil over his head, and peace in his heart, to the glory of your blessed Name Lord Jesus! AMEN
ReplyDeleteThanks dear brother Ken. I am so glad to have had your fellowship. Even though we disagree on some things, it has not hindered our joint work and fellowship in what we do agree on, which is far greater than the things we disagree on. God bless you dear reverend brother.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Pray for my brother also. He is Eddie K. Garrett Jr. He also is a former primitive Baptist preacher and former "Church of Christ" pastor. He has had pulmonary fibrosis for years and he is on his last stage of it and has spells where he can't breathe. He is about a year and a half older than I, the firstborn male in our family. We were at odds through much of our lives, but the past few years we have put aside our differences (some of which are theological) and focused on what we agree on. So, we talk the bible and pray for each other. Thank you Lord. Also, my younger brother Joseph (Joe) is not in the best of health. We both have heart stents. I also, like Eddie, have pulmonary fibrosis, but mine is stable at the moment. We are still trying to find out my problem. Thanks for all the prayers.
ReplyDeleteUpdate for April 2nd, 2024. Stress test shows low risk for another cardiac blockage (attack). Ultrasound of organs (kidneys, liver, pancreas, gall bladder, etc.) show no defects (although my kidneys are not in perfect shape, I having high creatinine levels. I see my pulmonary doctor tomorrow to address the shortness of breath (is pulmonary fibrosis taking a giant leap forward?) and chest pains. I think my gallstone may be part of my problem and must see a surgeon soon about that. I also have a blood culture test to rule out blood infection. I see my family doctor Monday and my cardiac doctor April 18th. Will keep you updated by adding comments to this posting. Thanks for your continued prayers for wife and me.
ReplyDeleteUpdate for April 14th, 2024. Pulmonary fibrosis advanced since first part of January (before I got a bad case of Covid, and which has become "long Covid"). Friday's CT scan showed such and also that I have granulomatous. Have had a rough time since I had Covid the end of January. Can't do much as before when Fibrosis was stable. I get tired easily and oxygen levels drop fast when I get out of breath (which I do easily now). This is affecting my time for studying and writing. I do hope to finish my series on the afterlife and some other things in rough drafts (I have several hundred of these!). Continue to pray for my wife and for me. Thanks.
