"Say, therefore, to the sons of Israel, ‘I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the labors of the Egyptians, and I will rescue you from their bondage. I will also redeem you with an outstretched arm, and with great judgments." (Ex. 6: 6 nasb)
In my series on "Redemption" (containing sixteen chapters and which can be read in the April 2018 through January 2019 archives) I showed how the seven sealed book of the Apocalypse deals with the subject of redemption, and so the whole of the prophecy deals with redemption. But, how can that be since there is so much destruction in the judgments of the Apocalypse? Well, the above text tells us how. Israel was "redeemed" from bondage "with great judgments," not upon Israel, but upon the Egyptians who enslaved them and made their lives miserable.
Redemption, as I showed in that series, is largely a thing not yet realized. The time of Christ' return to earth is called "the day of redemption." (Eph. 4: 30; Luke 21: 28) Further, as I showed in that series, one of the works of a Redeemer in Israel (Hebrew "goel"), or "kinsman redeemer," was to act as an "avenger" against those who had enslaved or kidnapped a Hebrew.
So, when you are reading the awful end time calamities of the Apocalypse upon the wicked world, see it in the context of redemption.
