No Reaping in the Next Life?

Elder C.H. Cayce, champion debater for the "Primitive Baptist" sect, in an editorial in his paper "The Primitive Baptist" titled "Galatians 6:7 AND Ephesians 5:6" for July 16, 1936, wrote: 

"Sister Alma Pate, Avant, Okla., has requested our views on (Galatians 6:7) and (Ephesians 5:6); (Galatians 6:7-8) reads as follows: “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.” This language was written to the church at Galatia. It is not addressed to alien sinners. But it is true in nature, that “whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.”

He then said:

"He does the reaping from the same field where he does the sowing."

This is Hardshellism in a nutshell. It is also a leading tenet of the Two Seed Primitive Baptists. The Two Seeders said that nothing a person does in his life determines whether he goes to heaven or hell. Cayce believes that all the reaping for sowing good seed occurs in this life and not in the next life or in eternity. He also is affirming that all the reaping from sowing to the flesh is likewise received in a person's life but not in eternity. What about sowing on earth and reaping in hell? What saith the scriptures?

"Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice and come forth—those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation." (John 5: 28-29 nkjv)

Here those who do good obtain resurrection life. Those who do evil obtain resurrection of condemnation.

"But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment." (Matt. 12: 36 kjv)

"For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works." (Matt. 16: 27 nkjv)

"For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad." (II Cor. 5: 10 nkjv)

"But why do you judge your brother? Or why do you show contempt for your brother? For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. For it is written: “As I live, says the Lord, Every knee shall bow to Me, And every tongue shall confess to God.” So then each of us shall give account of himself to God." (Rom. 14: 10-12 nkjv)

"But in accordance with your hardness and your impenitent heart you are treasuring up for yourself wrath in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God,  who "will render to each one according to his deeds":  eternal life to those who by patient continuance in doing good seek for glory, honor, and immortality;  but to those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness--indignation and wrath,  tribulation and anguish, on every soul of man who does evil, of the Jew first and also of the Greek." (Rom. 2: 5-9 nkjv)

"And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be." (Rev. 22: 12 kjv)

"For bodily exercise profits a little, but godliness is profitable for all things, having promise of the life that now is and of that which is to come." (I Tim. 4: 8 nkjv)

I could add many more texts that show that Cayce is wrong when he avers that all the reaping for good or bad done in life is received in this life, but these should be sufficient.
