The above picture is of my dog Kirby. I had to have him put down a few days ago due to congestive heart failure. That was so difficult. He has been my best friend for over ten years. There is a hole in my heart and an emptiness in my soul over this. My brother Joe is also very sad over it. He was with me when we took him to the Vet and said our final words to Kirby.
I prayed for him but God saw fit to take him away. Several months ago he had surgery to remove what was judged to be a non cancerous growth on his rectal area and the Vet had to castrate him. He has been through a lot the past year. Several days ago he quit eating and it was on the fifth day that we finally got him into the Vet's office and they x-rayed his lungs and saw that they were filling up with fluid and he was having trouble breathing.
I told several family members that I really hoped that after the resurrection, when living life in the new heavens and earth, that God will resurrect Kirby and let him spend eternity with me. I have read articles on the question "will pets go to heaven." Most say that there is no scripture that says so and it would be speculation. I agree. However, I think such verses as the following give me hope.
"For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord will give grace and glory; no good thing will He withhold from them that walk uprightly." (Psa. 84: 11)
"Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass." (Psa. 37: 4-5)
"For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God. For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it in hope; because the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now." (Rom. 8: 19-22)
So, my hope is not without reason. What think ye?

The ancient Egyptians thought so for they had their pets mummified and buried with them.
Dear brother, I also ten to think animals go to heaven. I too know the pain of losing my best friend my dog named Dixie. She ate with me, slept with me, rode around with me and watched tv with me. Her unconditional love reminded me that HIS love was even sweeter. Some verses that give me this hope are Rev 5:13 "And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever." Isaiah 65::25 "The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the bullock: and dust shall be the serpent's meat. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, saith the Lord." Eccl 3::19 " For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts; even one thing befalleth them: as the one dieth, so dieth the other; yea, they have all one breath; so that a man hath no preeminence above a beast: for all is vanity." Luke 3::6 "All flesh shall see the salvation of God." and lastly Romans 8:20-21 "For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope, Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God."
Amen! Seems like eternity will be sweeter with the pets we loved.
