Some of the scriptures I wrote about in conjunction with the red horse rider and his associates are these:
"And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second beast say, Come and see. And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword." (Rev. 6: 3-4)
"And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken." (Luke 21: 25-26)
"And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually ...The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence. And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth." (6: 5, 11-12)
"the sword of the LORD shall devour from one end of the land to the other end of the land; no flesh shall have peace." (Jeremiah 12:12)
"For thus saith the LORD; We have heard a voice of trembling, of fear, and not of peace." (Jer. 30: 5)
"For before these days there was no hire for man, nor any hire for beast; neither was there any peace to him that went out or came in because of the affliction: for I set all men every one against his neighbour." (Zech. 8: 10)
“there was no peace to him that went out, nor to him that came in, but great vexations were upon all the inhabitants of the countries. And nation was destroyed of nation, and city of city; for God did vex them with all adversity.” (2 Chronicles 15:3, 5.)
In the thirteenth article in my series on the red horse I cited these words of Christ:
"But when ye shall hear of wars and commotions, be not terrified: for these things must first come to pass; but the end is not by and by. Then said he unto them, Nation (or race) shall rise against nation (race), and kingdom against kingdom...and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken." (Luke 21: 9-11; 25-26)
I pointed out that "nations" denoted ethnicities, not so much political states. Is this ethnic and religious fighting in Europe and America not what Christ spoke about?
