Not only has much shouting, amen giving, and joyous exuberation absent from much of the dry dusty preaching we hear today, but we see little weeping, little "fear and trembling," few deeply convicted sinners crying out for mercy, etc. I have been in several meetings where the Spirit and the preached word worked mightily upon the lost and they have been made to tremble and brought to their knees in repentance. Why do we not see this today in Hardshell churches? Their forefathers preached Hell and damnation, sinners trembled, and they came forward seeking salvation and the prayers of the saints.
I want to see poor mourners come to the altar and find peace with God. I pray for it. I asked to be used of God to that end. God save us from stale crusty preachers and churches! Brothers, the house is on fire! Will you sit back and fail to warn others?
Remember these words my Hardshell brothers?
Brethren, see poor sinners round you
Slumb'ring on the brink of woe;
Death is coming, hell is moving,
Can you bear to let them go?
See our fathers and our mothers,
And our children sinking down;
Brethren, pray and holy manna
Will be showered all around.
Sisters, will you join and help us?
Moses' sister aided him;
Will you help the trembling mourners
Who are struggling hard with sin?
Tell them all about the Savior,
Tell them that He will be found;
Sisters, pray, and holy manna
Will be showered all around.
