Excellent sermon! I love listening to sermons by this man of God. As I have stated before, Pastor Lawson teaches some things that I do not agree with. But, thankfully, he teaches a lot of things I believe, and I love the passion he shows in delivering the word of God. In this sermon he quoted his text from John 5 and focused on the words "search the scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life, but they are they which testify of me." He then went through the OT scriptures to show a few of those that spoke of him, especially in types of Christ. He focused on one of the several types he mentioned, the one where Jeremiah the prophet is cast into the pit. Very good preaching here.
Another thing I loved about this sermon is that he spoke mostly extempore and not in a Stoic professorial way. It was not all emotion, for there was much meat in the short discourse. The message was so stuck in his heart and mind that the words just flowed out. He may have had an hand written outline on the podium, but he did not focus on it. The outline was engraven in his imagination.
I also love his evangelistic outreach, his Socratic method, his asking questions of his audience, especially sinners who knew not the Lord or the way of salvation. His ending invitations to sinners to come to Christ was great. Would to God more preachers would imitate him.
The YouTube video gives the whole Sunday service, so just skip the musical part to listen to him (if you are limited in time. If you have time, however, listening to the entire service would not hurt you!)
Hearing this sermon left me feeling instructed, feeling uplifted and happy in Christ, feeling more zealous to work for the Lord.
