Want God's Honor?

In a recent post I cited the words of James the Lord's brother where he said "draw near  to God, and he will draw near to you" from James 4: 8. (See here) I then said that if you want God to draw near to you, then you should draw near to him. In another recent post I cited the word of God to Zechariah who said that he was not listening to the people because the people were not listening to him. (Zech. 7: 14; See here) I then stated that if you want God to listen to you, or not ignore you, then you should listen to him and not ignore him. In a similar vein Lord God said this in the long ago:

"...those who honor Me I will honor, and those who despise Me shall be lightly esteemed." (I Sam. 2: 30 nkjv)

If you want God's honor, recognition, and approval, begin by honoring him. If you want God to accept you and not reject you, begin by accepting him and not rejecting him or his word. Jesus also in a similar vein said:

"Whoever denies me before others, I also will deny before my Father in heaven." (Matt. 10: 33)

The apostle Paul said the same thing, saying --

"if we deny him, he also will deny us" (II Tim. 2: 12).

If you want God's approval and acceptance, why not make sure you are giving your approval and acceptance of him and his word? If you do not confess Christ, and that publicly before men, Christ will not confess you before the Father in the judgment day. (Matt. 10: 32)
